When designing his Master Bedroom, Owner Ruel Joyner said “my wife fought for the color; a deep-eggplant called “Galaxy” that took about 13 coats of paint – and she was so right.”
Flanking the deck doorway are drapery panels sewn from luxurious Donghia Jacquard fabric in a large-scaled medallion pattern called Suzani. Named for traditional Suzani rugs made in 19th century Asia, this updated version is woven in the unexpected colors of grape, chartreuse and chocolate. The fabric is a favorite of Delaine’s.
“I knew I was going to use it somewhere in the house,” she admitted with a smile.
Suspended over the bed is a sparkling 24-inch, lighted sphere. Hand-woven of aluminum wire finished in brushed nickel, the sparkling fixture, called a Celestial pendant light, casts a delicate pattern across the ceiling and walls resembling a faux finish while bold accents such as the table lamp at right is made from the cocoons of silkworms.

We had a lot of entries, but it was Michelle’s “Independence Couch” that won by a landslide.
We think it may have been constructed of Duct Tape - and this patriotic number was definitely ugly.
